MARKING OUT THE EFFECTS - CONTINUED

Work your way through the entire song marking out the effect you are working on or effects.

Depending on the type and number of effects. You may find it easier to mark out all your effects as you go. Lets say you are using "EFFECT 1" for an instrument and you are using "EFFECT 2" for a voice over or something else. It simply depends on what your are applying as your "effects". Personally, I find it easier to focus on one thing at a time.

If you are using my method, and you have your effects all marked out for "EFFECT 1", before you start on "EFFECT 2", change the speed to normal and the play range to "full sequence". Play the entire song. If you note anything that is not right, you can use the space bar to pause, take note of the timing area and then go back to half speed / visible screen and fix it. Keep doing this until you have everything for "EFFECT 1" perfect. Then move on to "EFFECT 2".

Tapper Wizard, tap out, apply to channel, half speed, fix entire sequence, double check, save.

BACKING UP YOUR WORK

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of backing up your sequences. We all know computers crash, get viruses and are susceptible to all kinds of problems. Sequences can take hours, days or weeks to complete. I have a website so I back all my files up on my website server. If you don't have a website you can use CD or DVD's, another computer or an EXTERNAL hard drive. DO NOT BACK THEM UP ON THE SAME HARD DRIVE YOU ARE DOING YOUR WORK ON.

Now back to the effects. If you have downloaded any of my sequences, you will note that every 16-24 channels I have the "dead channels" in my channel configuration. This is so that I can be anywhere in the sequence and not have to scroll all the way to the top to see where an effect comes in. Once you have your first three dead channels the way that you want. Copy all 3 for the entire length and then keep pasting all the way down through the end of your channels. Just remember that if you change anything later on to copy and paste the change all the way down. Now onto the fun stuff.
